Bashkortostan became a pilot region for the development of wrestling in schools
On February 7 For the first time, Ufa hosted a scientific and practical conference «Wrestling in schools in the Republic of Bashkortostan». The official opening was attended by the Acting Head of the region, Radiy Khabirov, the president of the Russian Wrestling Federation, Mikhail Mamiashvili, development specialists for this sport, coaches, and teachers.
– Our region has always been famous for its fighters, centuries-old traditions of the national wrestling kuresh. Therefore, it is logical that Bashkortostan became one of the pilot subjects of Russia in the implementation of the «Wrestling for Schools» federal project, – said Radiy Khabirov in his welcoming speech.
The Acting Head of Bashkortostan noted that at the moment, there were more than 4.5 thousand athletes in the republic professionally engaged in wrestling, of which about three thousand in youth sports schools.
A historic event took place at the conference in Ufa: an agreement was signed between the government of Bashkiria and the Wrestling Federation on cooperation.
