Ufa native Aigul Akhmetshina became one of winners of International Opera Competition in Mexico
The opera singer from Ufa Aigul Akhmetshina won the third place at the prestigious Sonora International Opera Competition Francisco Araiza in Mexico. The 21 year-old Aigul again was the youngest participant of the contest. In the final, the singer performed the aria of Princess de Bouillon from the "Adrienne Lecouvreur" opera by F. Chilea, Cavatina Rosina from the "The Barber of Seville" opera by G. Rossini.
The participant from Bashkortostan was praised for her high professionalism. The excellent work of the her master – the teacher of the Ufa art school, honoured art worker of Bashkortostan Nailya Yusupova was also marked.
Winning this competition gives a pass without qualifying rounds for such prestigious opera competitions as Opera, Belvedere and the F. Vinas Competition. Aigul Akhmetshina received invitations to auditions in Real de Madrid and La Opera de Malaga theatres.
87 performers from all over the world participated in the semifinal of the Sonora International Opera Competition Francisco Araiza. 20 singers reached the final and only three of them were Russians. At the gala concert Aigul Akhmetshina performed Cavatina Rosina and Segidile from Carmen by J. Bizet.
