Bashkortostan wrestler won International Greco-Roman Wrestling Tournament among youth
The wrestler from Bashkortostan Islam Opiev won the International Greco-Roman Wrestling Tournament among youth in Georgia. Representatives of nine countries of the world took part in the tournament held in Batumi: Russia, Germany, Iran, Israel, Turkey, Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
Islam Opiev won the first place in the weight category of 74 kg. His rivals were athletes from Georgia, Armenia and Iran. In the final, Opiyev met with the current champion of Russia Narek Oganian and took a confident victory, the Federation of Sports Wrestling of the Republic of Bashkortostan informs.
According to the head coach of the Bashkortostan team Ramil Siraev, the gold at this tournament will allow Islam Opiev to qualify for performances at European and world championships that will be held in Germany and Finland this year.
