Ufa Paralympic Centre will be opened by International Children's Games
In Ufa, a construction of the Paralympic Centre will be fully completed by the International Children's Games, which the republican capital will host in 2019. This was reported by the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov at a meeting with the newly elected deputies of the State Duma of the 7th convocation from Bashkortostan.
As noted by the deputy Rima Batalova, Paralympians themselves addressed with a question on the construction of the Centre. The athletes are anxious about its redesigning, according to which it is planned to carry out volleyball, basketball and handball competitions at the facility.
"The centre will be fully equipped for the convenience of Paralympians, it will comply with all the requirements – that is for sure. But if there is a need for a major event – a volleyball tournament, for example, we can hold it there. I think that games will not interfere with the functioning of the Centre", Rustem Khamitov said.
The Head of the Republic noted that the construction continues. This year, 800 million rubles will be spent and about a billion — next year. According to the project 50-m and 25-m swimming pools will be located there. The facility will be able to hold competitions also.
